Rev. Bill Laurie

Bill Laurie

NOTE: Bill was able to be with us for portions of the tour in Southern Ontario. Other professional obligations limit his ability to participate fully in the 2006 itinerary, but his presence is always a welcome addition when he is able to be with us. RK

Bill has been making music to help others sing since his early teens. He is a guitarist, singer and in 2001 began playing Tenor saxophone (a lifelong dream not related to a mid life crisis!)

In 1976-7 Bill and Jan traveled among the small towns of BC sharing contemporary music resources in United Church congregations. Bill studied theology at the Vancouver School of Theology and spent 22 years in ordered ministry in BC, always incorporating music into his ministry.

He is now working as a Spiritual Director in a treatment center for alcohol and drug addiction in Nanaimo.

Bill has led music at a variety of retreats, conferences and Conference Meetings. He has taught guitar and song leading courses at Naramata Centre.

Bill has a deep interest in Celtic Christianity, the wisdom of the early church, the contemplative life, and music and chant that enables us to pray.
