Lyrics

The gentle breeze and budding flower,
the birds sweet singing in this hour;
the greening grass, the sweep of sky
seem captured in a lover’s sigh.

The song of leaves, the dance of stars,
the very warmth of sun is ours,
for all seems right and all seems good,
the world’s unfolding as it should.

How shall we sing creation’s song?
How dance a life and love so strong?
How play and work a harmony
attuned to God’s community?

Creating God, who spoke the word,
gave God’s own life to singing bird,
to artful flower and sheltering tree,
to us, my love, to you and me.

For we are one with all that lives,
and each new day the Lord God gives
will in our loving dance with praise
and we’ll live blessing all our days.

This is our aim, our true desire
our love aflame with God’s own fire.
O holy Love and God of care,
accept our praise, fulfill our prayer.
