We dare not, Creator, ask to be as one,
if we are not united with your Son;
then stir us up each day to make request
that we in life may have the mind of Christ.
We cannot hope for Christians to be one
without the will to see that right is done.
Make us with pain of worldly needs aware;
teach us to love the people as they are.
We dare to ask that you will guide us first
to waste no longer things we hold in trust;
God, set us free from all that ties us down
and lead your church into the great unknown.
