God pitched a tent among the tribes
and makes a dwelling there
the people feel at home with God
and earth seems strangely fair.
So every tear is wiped away
and death is on the run
for Christ gives earth new light and warmth,
shines brighter than the sun
God’s garden grows and plants abound
that heal and soothe and feed.
The hungry and the homeless find
no need to beg and plead.
The rule of death is set aside
with power that destroys,
and all the earth is filled with song,
with laughter and with joys.
O First and last we praise you now,
for you make all things new.
